Yes, if you meet the other requirements for the grant – faculty advisors are not required to be members of the California Botanical Society.

I am or my faculty advisor is a volunteer/council member for the California Botanical Society – am I eligible?

Yes, the volunteer status of you or your faculty advisor does not limit your eligibility for these grants. The volunteer will be recused from grant reviews for the cycle of your application.

I previously received a Paul Silva Student Research Grant. Can I apply for this award again?

Yes, you are eligible to apply again for the Paul Silva Student Research Grant. Progress on previously funded research will be considered favorably in reviewing proposals.

I previously received an Annetta Carter Memorial Fund Grant. Can I apply for this award again?

Yes, you are eligible to apply again for the Annetta Carter Memorial Fund Grant. Previous recipients of Annetta Carter Fund awards should include an additional brief (one page or less) summary of work accomplished with prior support. Progress on previously funded research and evidence of an effort to seek external funding will be considered favorably in reviewing proposals.
